North Carolina Scottish Rite Masonic Foundation

Philanthropic Initiatives of the North Carolina Scottish Rite

The North Carolina Scottish Rite, through its dedicated 501(c)(3) charitable arm, the North Carolina Scottish Rite Masonic Foundation, channels its resources into four principal philanthropies that reflect a profound commitment to education, youth development, health, and community resilience. These initiatives not only embody the core values of Freemasonry—such as brotherly love, relief, and truth—but also deliver tangible support to families and communities across the state, ensuring that aid is accessible and impactful.

RiteCare Scottish Rite Childhood Language Programs:

At the heart of the foundation's health-focused efforts is RiteCare, which provides essential financial support for the training of licensed speech-language pathologists and audiologists. This program targets children with speech, hearing, and language disorders, offering diagnostic, therapeutic, and educational services at little or no cost to families. By addressing these challenges early, RiteCare empowers young learners to overcome barriers and thrive academically and socially.

College Scholarships and Grants:

Education remains a cornerstone of Scottish Rite benevolence. The foundation awards scholarships and grants to deserving students pursuing higher education, helping to alleviate financial burdens and foster future leaders. These awards prioritize Masonic youth and community members, promoting academic excellence and personal growth in alignment with the organization's long-standing tradition of intellectual advancement.

Support for Masonic Youth Organizations:

Recognizing the importance of character-building in adolescence, the foundation extends funding and resources to Masonic-affiliated youth groups, such as DeMolay and Job's Daughters. This philanthropy supports leadership training, mentorship programs, and community service activities, equipping young participants with the skills and values needed to become responsible, ethical adults.

Aid for Victims of Natural Disasters:

In times of crisis, the North Carolina Scottish Rite steps forward with compassion and efficiency. Through partnerships with the Masonic Service Association of North America, the foundation delivers financial assistance, supplies, and recovery support to those affected by hurricanes, floods, and other declared disasters. This rapid-response philanthropy underscores a dedication to rebuilding lives and strengthening community bonds in the face of adversity.

These four pillars of philanthropy are sustained by the generous contributions of Scottish Rite Masons, families, and donors statewide, ensuring the foundation's mission endures for generations. For more details or to contribute, visit the official North Carolina Scottish Rite website.
